Interview with a Frenchman
Today we saw one of the staff at Firefly eating food from another shop. So Yuko interviewed him to get the full story…
No commentsYuko Flies Out on Secret Mission
Today Yuko left the country on a secret mission – the purpose of which will be revealed when she returns in about a week. Here’s the video…
And here’s a picture…
No commentsShark Teeth
Shark’s teeth have started appearing on the roads around Riverview. I’ve never seen these before and I don’t know what they mean. I must assume that they were placed there by aliens, perhaps to assist their ships in matters of navigation.
No commentsDemolition and Groceries
When I went for my walk this morning, I was shocked to see that the house at the end of our street – right next to TabBayRes – has been completely demolished! We attended the auction of this house a couple of years ago and it seemed like a very nice house – not fit for demolition…
It’s a long time since we’ve been to Maroo at Eastwood, and therefore it’s a long time since we’ve been to the Korean supermarket which is near Maroo. Yuko was becoming agitated and suffering withdrawal symptoms due to Kim Chee deprivation. So we made a special trip to Eastwood today just to visit the Korean supermarket. It was very exciting indeed…
No commentsMissing – Presumed Dead
A cavia porcellus has gone missing in Riverview. I personally believe the animal to be dead – although I deny responsibility in the animal’s death.
The only other plausible explanation for the errant rodent’s dissappearance is that she is hiding in the magic cardboard castle…
No commentsThe Neighbours
Our neighbours…
On one side is the family who claim they don’t have a dog…
And there’s the family who sit in our driveway to make phone calls…
No commentsMaroo Mystery
Mother invited us to Maroo – The Korean restaurant at Eastwood. The layout of the menu has changed, but the selection appeared to be the same.
But the strange thing was that nobody else was there! We were the only cutomers! We speculated that the management had changed and the standards had dropped. When we got our food we confirmed that it was a bit different from before. However, the difference didn’t seem enough to account for a complete exodus of ALL customers. Perhaps there was a Korean movie on SBS tonight and all the Koreans stayed home…

The reason Yuko likes going to Maroo is because she can go to the Korean supermarket nearby. Tonight she got a trolley full…
No commentsRice and Chocolate
As we walked back to my car from The Dome restaurant, we stopped at the Korean / Japanese supermarket. There I saw two interesting things. First, an advertisement for a rental apartment with some surprising inclusions.
And gender specific chocolate…
No commentsPipe Mystery Solved
Last month I mentioned the the oddly coupled chair and pipe which I came upon during my walk. I had assumed it was for some bizarre Satanic private school ritual. But today, the mystery was solved!
The lines which have since been painted on the grass, reveal that the spot is for ‘putting shot’. An assistant then picks up the balls and rolls them down the pipe to return them to the thrower (or putter). It all makes perfect sense… or perhaps that’s just what they want us to think…
And the boat shed is coming along too…
