Dandyism Incarnate

Rain (and a snake) in Cairns

Today we arrived in ‘sunny’ Cairns. Naturally when we went ashore it was raining and windy. The fist thing we did was to buy a second umbrella at a convenience store.

This was our fist chance to see ‘Rhapsody of the Seas’ from the outside…

We found a nice cafe to have breakfast. Yuko asked for a sandwich on sourdough bread, but the waitress had never heard of sourdough bread! Despite this, Yuko liked the cafe because she was able to use the Internet…

We explored Cairns a bit in a random fashion. There are lots of Japanesey shops. This is not one of them…

We went out again in the evening, and before we had gone very far, Yuko’s umbrella (the one we bought this morning) was destroyed by the wind!

We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant in the town. It was adequate – but not as good as Taiki…

When we returned to the ship, we found a snake in our room…
