My contract at a well know company in Macquarie Park will be ending soon, and so I'm in the job market again.
This afternoon I had my first interview at a company in the city. I took the afternoon off and went home to change into my interview clothes. Then, I drove to the city in my high carbon emission vehicle.
Although I used to drive the same route every day when I worked in the city, today I missed an exit and had to take a detour through Kings Cross to get back onto the correct road! Fortunately I had allowed plenty of time and so this minor debacle did not make me late.
Yuko also went to the city separately to finalise the bookings for our upcoming holiday. We will be taking a short trip when my contract ends to spend any money that we might have left over.
We had planned to meet up for dinner after my interview. I got to the meeting spot in the QVB 40 minutes early so I decided to have coffee at one of the cafes there (see afternoon coffe picture above). Just as my coffee arrived, Yuko called me and said she was in another cafe in the QVB. It turned out she was in the cafe exactly below mine and one level down and she had also just ordered! So we both had coffee alone and it was very sad! But soon I finished my coffee and went down the escalator to find Yuko and there was much merriment.
I told Yuko about my interview and she was very excited.
Then we went to The Dome for dinner. This is a place we used to go to sometimes when I worked in the city. It's the kind of place where stuff that tastes exactly like tap water costs $9.00. However the food is very nice indeed, and we both ate dead birds.

The walls are now adorned with pants. We had dinned under Grant Hackett's pants...
